Released in 2005, the Celle Chair by Herman Miller is one of its newer creations. The chair began in the imagination of designer Jerome Caruso. The goal was to create a sophisticated supportive work chair at an affordable price. Caruso envisioned a chair that responds to your body shape, to make it feel like sitting on water.

The end result was an ergonomic desk chair that has hundreds of tiny cells, each one consisting of a pad with spring-like loops that would both support and respond to different anatomical areas. The Celle Chair is designed to fit 95% of the North American population (tall & small, slim & not-slim).

The Celle is earth-friendly, consisting of 33% recycled materials and is 99% recyclable at the end of its life. It is said that no two of the 1,578 polymer “cells” in a Celle Chair are alike. It also allows for free air flow, keeping skin temperature cool & constant.

The Celle Chair comes in one size and two models (basic & highly adjustable). Compared to the Aeron & the Mirra, Celle is the least costly of the three.
